Thank you for visiting my web site and for considering Deb Levesque Massage Therapy for your health needs. My first exposure to massage therapy was when I was in school for Athletic Training. The class focused on basic massage techniques for the legs and arms. Even though the class was only a few hours long, I was hooked. I knew then that I wanted massage to be part of my professional career.
Since 2001, I have provided professional massage services to help improve the mental and physical health of my clients. My services are perfect for anyone who wishes to enhance their current health, relieve pain and stress, or recover from illness or injury.
I offer several types of massage treatments to help you relax & relieve stress, decrease muscle aches & pains, and rebalance your energy. Massage therapy can be integrated with conventional medical therapy to achieve optimal physical and mental health.
What makes me different from other therapists? I use a combination of massage techniques during your treatment. For example, I may use deep tissue work your neck, and relaxing Swedish massage to your back. Your session will be specifically tailored to your needs. A specific home care program that includes stretches, body awareness and/or postural exercises may be given to you. Following the home care program will help to enhance the massage treatment and help you to control your pain.
My experience as an athletic trainer gives me an understanding of a variety of injuries. Confidential progress notes are written after each visit and if needed, I can provide private consultation with your medical professional.
Training and Qualifications
I graduated from Bridgewater State College in 1994 with a B.S. in Physical Education and a Concentration in Athletic Training. I began working as the Athletic Trainer for Wareham High School in the Fall of 1994. In May 2005, I resigned to focus solely on massage therapy. During the summers of 2000-2005 I was the Athletic Trainer for the Wareham Gatemen, a baseball team in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
In 2001, I graduated from the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, Massachusetts with a Certification in Massage Therapy. I received training in Swedish massage (the Lafleur Method), deep tissue, myofascial release, Shiatsu, and Sports massage.
In March of 2005, I was trained by Dragonfly SPA to administer Ionithermie Detox Treatments for the body. This is an anti-cellulite treatment that targets the glutes, thighs, and abdomen.
I attend continuing education classes each year. Some of the courses I have taken are Myofascial Release with Bob King, Active Isolated Stretch with Aaron Mattes and Marjorie Brook and Orthopedic & Sports Massage with James Waslaski.
Practice What You Preach
I not only educate my clients on the benefits of massage therapy, a healthy diet and good exercise habits, I set an example to do the same. Personally, I receive 3-4 massages per month by different local therapists. I block time daily, to go to the Wareham YMCA to workout. You can find me swimming in the pool, running or taking the X-press class.
