Re – Opening in a COVID – 19 world.

As I slowly re-open my massage practice, there are several changes that have been made to keep you & I as safe as possible from COVID-19.

High Risk Awareness.  The CDC data shows that older adults and people of any age, who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness if they contract COVID-19. If you are in this category, it may be best to forgo receiving a massage at this time.

Vaccines for COVID-19 are now available.  You are still advised to speak with your Physician about risks of illness.

You are advised to consult with your Physician for guidance.

  • 65 years or older
  • Chronic lung diseases
  • Moderate to severe asthma
  • Serious heart conditions
  • A compromised or weakened immune system
  • Severe obesity – BMI greater than 40
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic kidney or liver disease

Here are the changes you can expect:

Upon attending your appointment, you will be asked to wash your hands PRIOR to entering the massage room.  There are two bathrooms located across the hall from my office.

If you can answer YES to any of the below, please call to reschedule your appointment.

  1. Have you had a temperature of 100.4 or greater in the last 14 days?
  2. Are you experiencing any chills or repeat shaking with chills?
  3. Do you have a recent sore throat?
  4. Are you experiencing recent (new) headaches?
  5. Have you recently (last 14 days) lost your sense of smell or taste?
  6. Are you having shortness of breath or coughing?
  7. Are you feeling generally unwell / muscle aches?
  8. Recent nausea, vomiting or diarrhea?
  9. Close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, in the last 14 days?
  10. Waiting for test results because of a possible COVID exposure?
  11. Travel abroad, need to be 14 days post return.

A YES answer to any of the above will require you to reschedule. If you notice a symptom on the day of your appointment, please call me to reschedule.  You are also advised to call your Primary Care Physician and report any of the above symptoms.

You will verbally certify that you have truthfully answered the questions above.

You agree to contact me immediately if you come down with any of the above symptoms in the 14 days after your massage appointment.  If this happens, I will be required to contact the Local Board of Health for guidance.

You will be asked to read, sign and date two new COVID related forms.

#1 Informed Consent Form.    “I understand that COVID-19 is highly contagious and still present in the community where I am seeking massage therapy.  I understand that COVID-19 is passed through close contact with others and that people without symptoms may be infectious.  I understand that the Deb Levesque Massage Therapy business has taken every precaution to ensure my health and safety, but the risk of infection is still possible. “

#2 COVID-19 Exposure Form.  “I understand that in the event a client, the therapist, or staff member of this facility tests positive for COVID-19 within a time period that places me at risk of exposure, my name and contact information will be shared with the Local Board of Health for follow up.  In the event that I develop symptoms of illness within two weeks of my massage appointment, I will contact Deb Levesque Massage Therapy immediately.”

  • You & I will be required to wear our masks / face covering at all times. Speaking and communication will be kept short and be specific about the massage; discussion will include things such as comfort/warmth, pressure, areas of pain, etc.
  • Face massage and sinus points will not be treated at this time.
  • In between clients I will wipe down all relevant high touch surfaces, using the same approved cleaner that the Gleason Y is using throughout the entire facility.
  • Appointments will now have a minimum of 30 minutes in-between each client.

These policies may change in response to new data and information from the CDC.
